He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Lee Cox and Ethel Cox Thurmond; his father-in-law Robert Schoeneman; his siblings, Loney Cox, Donald, Carlyss and Shirley Cox; his stepbrother Orris Thurmond; and his brother-in-law Billy Joe Schoeneman.
He is survived by: his wife Charlene Cox of St. Clair; his children, Charles Cox (Lynn) of Villa Ridge, MO, Wesley Cox (Donna) of Leslie, MO, Angile Bailey (Jason) of Luebbering, MO and Jessi Godfrey (John) of St. Clair; his mother-in-law Hazel Schoeneman of St. Clair; his brother Carl Cox of St. Clair; and his stepbrother Wayne Thurmond of Highland, IL. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
