He was predeceased by: his grandmother Hattie Scroggins. He is survived by: his wife Gwen Brissey; his daughter Nola Nickols of Purdy, Missouri; and his grandson Drew Nickols (Andrea) of Washburn, Missouri.

Memorials may be made to the Friends of the Barry County Library and entrusted to the White Funeral Home & Crematory, Cassville, Missouri.
