He was predeceased by: his parents, John Pentland and Doris Pentland; his sister Margaret Ann Tenholder Perry; and his son Nathaniel Claiborne Pentland. He is survived by: his wife Deborah; his sons, David Jr. (Kimberley), Joseph and William; his stepchildren, Shannon Davis (Randy), Meghan Curran and Katie Gordon (Derek); his grandchildren, Ian, Charles Pentland, Bailey, Jaila, Quinton, William Simone, Landon and Tanner Gordon; his nephews, Michael Tenholder (Robin) and Mark Tenholder (Trish); and his family Church.
