He was predeceased by: his former wife Pat Spoonster; his parents, George Spoonster and Eva Spoonster; his stepfather Dan Fronk; and his siblings, Myrle Ocepek (Joe) and Willis Blake.

He is survived by: his wife Karen Spoonster; his children, Thea Etcher (Steve), Mindy Ward (Stacy) and Bobby Spoonster (Jessica); his stepchildren, Jim Palmer (Michelle) and Jessica Palmer (Gary); and his siblings, Dan Fronk, Elaine Shoemaker and Carol Price. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are preferred to the Warren County Jail Ministry, in care of Grace Bible Church, Warrenton.
