He was predeceased by: his wife Virginia Brinker; his parents, Walter Richard and Paula Concordia Nelsen (Engert); and his brother Donald Lewis Nelsen. He is survived by: his children, Vicki Nelsen (Gary McMichael) of Milford, Glen Nelsen (Linda) of Troy and Valerie McFadden (Tim) of Foristell, Missouri; his grandchildren, Katie Kessler (John), Steve Nelsen (Devin), Jenna Nelsen-McMichael, Ainslei Nelsen-McMichael, Connor McFadden and Bailey McFadden; his great grandchildren, Sydney Kessler, Graham Kessler, Jack Kessler and Carson Wischmeyer; and his sister-in-law Diane Nelsen.
