He was predeceased by: his parents, Hobart Nicholson and Irma Nicholson (O'Dougherty); his daughter Wendy Aring; and his grandson Chase Aring. He is survived by: his wife Mary Nicholson; his daughter Stephanie Whaley; and his siblings, Elizabeth Roush of Louisville, KY and Kirk Nicholson (Karen) of Ravenwood, MO. He is also survived by five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Old Drum Animal Shelter and can be left in care of Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home.
