He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel L. Downey, Sr. and Mary Amanda Skelly Downey; his wife Anne Shoup Downey; his former wife DeAnn Warner; his son Paul V Downey, Jr.; his brothers, Thomas Downey and Daniel Downey, Jr. (Mary Frances); and his brother-in-law Joseph Gallo.
He is survived by: his children, Therese Ragsdale (Michael) of Lee's Summit, MO, Margaret Erich (Douglas) of Lee's Summit, MO and Peter Downey (Alison) of Overland Park, KS.; and his siblings, Mary Lou Smith (Mac) of Pleasanton, CA, Joseph Edward Downey (Mercedes) of Seville, Spain and Adele Gallo of East Norwich, NY.. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
