He was predeceased by: his parents, Ermon Sammons and Eula Francis Sammons (Philips); his former wife Jeanette Wright; and his siblings, William Loren, Ermon Jr., Elvis Vern, Lawrence Elvis, Erma Francis Owens, Wilma Lorene Fitzgerald, Beulah Fae Stach, Elua Mae Sammons and Lois Christine Sammons Faulconer.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Catherine Charles Sammons; and his children, Joy Elliott (Robin), Vanesesa Chappell (Larry) and Mike Opfer. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
