She was predeceased by: her mother Edith Joe (Overstreet); her stepmother Audie May Blackshear; her children, Doyle L. Jones and Brenda J. (Jones); and her brother Glen Carl Blackshear.
She is survived by: her husband Paul R. Schmeltzer of Warrensburg; her daughter Candace (Tim Mertes) of Warrensburg; her brothers, William Blackshear (Isla), Robert Blackshear (Patricia) and Benton Blackshear; her sister-in-law Dorothy Blackshear (late Glen Carl); and her grandchildren, Jacob of Warrensburg, Melody of Warrensburg, Thomas Mertes of Warrensburg, Alicia Crabtree and Bryan Stevenson of Denison, TX. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
