He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph John and Lena June Mergener (Leiting) of Merrillan, WI.; and his wife Geraldine Glee Cull of Warrensburg. He is survived by: his children, Diana Lynn (Kenneth "Duffy" Duffield), Deborah Ann (Doug Dyer), Vanessa Joy (Jerry Whitney), Christina Jane (Jack Early), Kimberly Dawn (Shannon Hill), David Kenneth (Shelly Mergener), Barbara Sue (Steve Austin) and Adam Peter (Tamara Mergener); his brother Robert "Bob" (Judy Mergener); and his adoptive son Mark Johnson. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
