It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Hugh Smith (Warrensburg, Missouri), born in Henderson, Kentucky, who passed away on August 6, 2019, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Barker Smith and Mary Louis Smith (Echols); and his siblings, Richard Smith, Isobel Hawkins, Marcella Peay and Lois Evans.
He is survived by: his wife Lorene Cusic; his daughters, Julie Carter (Steve) of Warrensburg, MO, Carol Smith (Matthew Cox) of Independence, MO and Susan Smith (Brian Lee) of Independence, MO; his sisters, Carolyn Sue Gish of Henderson, KY, Mary Ruth Evans of Henderson, KY and Brenda Gail Welsh of Henderson, KY; his grandchildren, Zackary Carter (Kara Williams) of Warrensburg, MO, Elizabeth Carter of Warrensburg, MO, David Ezekiel Smith of Kansas City, MO and Kylie Ehrsam of Independence, MO; and his great grandchildren, Evelyn Wren Carter and Riley Randall Carter. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
