She was predeceased by: her parents, Ferrell Dempsey and Irene Dempsey (Keltner); and her siblings, Harvey Dempsey, Denny Dempsey, Claude Dempsey and Curtis Dempsey.

She is survived by: her children, Lori Wittman (Forrest) and Chris Shinkle (Ellen); her grandchildren, Whitney Mathis (Erik), Kelsey Wilgers (Kyle), Jordan Shinkle (Rachel) and Hayden Shinkle; her great grandchildren, Kinslee Mathis and Forrest Wilgers; her siblings, Judy Stephens, Lynn Dempsey, Doug Dempsey and Dorothy Street (Rodney); and her brother-in-law Ron Homfeld.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Show-Me Christian Youth Home and left in care of Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home.
