He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Frank Matthews and Esta Mae Matthews (McFerrin); his former spouse Cydney A. Roach; his son Doug Matthews; his granddaughter Heather; his wife Deborah Bodenhamer (Ayers); his stepchildren, Jason Bodenhamer and Valerie Wood (Brett); and his grandchildren, Seth, Ace and Allison.
