He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Kirksey and Delpha D. Kirksey (Waggoner); his wife Joan Kirksey; his grandson Cory Ray; and his great grandchild Zoe Kirksey.

He is survived by: his daughters, Mitzi Johnson (Clarence) and Ginger Osiel; his grandchildren, Brandon Kirksey (Amber, Lacey White), Colt Johnson, Dexter Ray and J. L. Ray; and his sibling Marlyn. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
