He was predeceased by: his granddaughter Ashley Jones; his parents, Charley and Ethel; his siblings, Charles Swarthout, Ned Thomas "Tom" Swarthout, Harry Delano Swarthout and Amy "Jean" Asher; his siblings-in-law, Ronald "Bud" Holmes, William "Bill" Hayes Asher and Dolores "Dee" Swarthout; and his nephews, Charles "Chuck" Swarthout Jr. and Timothy "Tim" Robert Asher.

He is survived by: his wife Wanda; his children, Nick Swarthout (Jennie) of Jefferson City, Jason Swarthout (Brenda) of California, Donnie Jones (Betsy) of North Carolina, Michelle Murcia (Yuri) of Ohio and Lynn Price (Pete) of Florida; his grandchildren, Brendan Swarthout, Jackson Swarthout, Emily Swarthout, Hannah Swarthout, Jessica Jones, Tyler Price, Meghan Price and Ashlyn Price; and his siblings, Dave Swarthout (Kay) of Vienna and Alice Holmes of Argyle.
