Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved David Robert Gibson of Vienna, Missouri, born in Sturgeon, Missouri, who passed away at the age of 82, on February 27, 2024. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert Herschel and Ada Pearl Gibson (Welch); his wife Jan Gibson; his daughters, Deborah Gibson of Moorpark, Rebecca Bixby (Robert) of Camdenton and Leona Gibson of Stuart, Florida; and his siblings, Barbara Hladkey of Freeburg and Richard Hoy. He was also cherished by 3 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and many more relatives and friends.
There was significant reduction in the cancer cells early on, however, once he contracted COVID-19 in December it was difficult to bounce back.
The human body is a valuable, irreplaceable resource in the training of physicians, and in Dave's continued spirit of giving, he has generously donated his earthly body to the MU School of Medicine for medical education – Gift of Body.
