He was predeceased by: his parents, Isaac Wilson and Tressie Vernon Nicklas (Garoutte); and his sons, James Richard and Gerald Lee Nicklas. He is survived by: his wife Helen Louise Tennison; and his sisters, Irene Andes of Monett and Dorothy Rhea of Marionville. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations for Charles may be made to the Masonic Home.
