Robert Capowski wrote a sympathy message

“Having just learned this morning, March 16,2025, of Sergeant Schmidt’s passing it is with deepest sympathy I send my condolences. He was a sergeant at the Women’s Prison in Vandalia during which time I was the Deputy Warden. He served the State of Missouri in an exemplary manner. We became neighbors in recent years and had many encounters in town. I spent time at his house visiting and giving him encouragement when he lost his precious daughter. May The Lord Jesus comfort his family.”
