She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Melvin "Pete" and Leta McCoy Straube; her husband Leon Dempsey; her sons, Melvin Dempsey of Hannibal, Mike Dempsey (Jan) of Kansas City and Larry Dempsey (Sandy) of Rapid City, SD; her grandchildren, Beth Blanchard (Chad), Sarah Waddell (James), Becky Williams (Shea), Brad Dempsey, Josh Dempsey (Ashton), Jacob and Zach Dempsey; and her great grandchildren, Jacob, Annabel, Aaron Blanchard, Madisyn, Mathew, Mara, Bennet, Brennah, Grant, Makenna, Elliot, Quinn Waddell, Kaeden, Kyndal Williams, Dax, Channing Dempsey, Mike, Charla and Emily Smith of Vandalia.
Covid made the past year extremely challenging for Reta.
