He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lloyd Waldo and Beulah Mae McDannold Maxwell; his spouse Shirley Ann Cragen; his daughters, Jodey Swee (Dave) of Charleston, SC and Jan Dempsey (Mike) of Kansas City; his grandchildren, Joshua Dempsey (Ashton) of Kansas City, Ali Swee (Juan Mejia) of Washington, D. C. and Andi Swee of Charleston, S. C; and his great grandchildren, Dax and Channing Dempsey of Kansas City.

Memorial contributions can be made to Vandalia First Christian Church or Vandalia YMCA, in care of Bienhoff Funeral Home.
