He is survived by: his wife Charlotte L. Bennett; his sons, James W. McDowell (Marie) of Macon, MO and Douglas H. McDowell (Joanna) of Columbia, MO; his grandchildren, Samuel W. P. McDowell (Abby), Emma E. Potter (Taylor), Amanda L. McDowell (Daniel Hakes), Joshua D. McDowell, Kerry A. Beasley (Eli), Joshua H. Hockman and Jacob W. Hockman; his great grandchild Elizabeth Beasley; and his sister Shirley Crum of Columbia, MO. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
