With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dorothy Mae James of Vandalia, Missouri, who passed away on April 17, 2024 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid adieu to Dorothy Mae's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Dorothy Mae has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Estel Hoover and Lena Hoover (Miller); her husband Paul Leon James; and her sister Donna Oberhaus. She is survived by: her children, Paul James of Vandalia, MO and Karen Westenhaver of Columbia, MO; her grandchildren, Matt Westenhaver (Heather) and Michele Forrest (Gerald); and her great grandchildren, Lena Westenhaver and Wayne Westenhaver.
Memorials are suggested to the Northeast Humane Society, in care of Waters Funeral Home.
