He was predeceased by: his parents, Beulah Buffington (Short) and Ura Buffington; his siblings, Marie Starks, Wilma Ball, Howard Buffington, Freda Wangelin, Forrest Buffington and Lawrence Buffington; his son Danny Clark; his niece Judy Scott; and his nephews, Harold Starks, Vince Buffington, Richard Bedell, Dale Buffington and Allen Bedell.
He is survived by: his children, Anthony Buffington (Virginia), Ginger Green (Wyatt), Scottie Buffington (Suzy), Gail Pettypool, Janice Burnside and Dennis Clark (Judy); his grandchildren, AJ, Toni, Madison, Christopher, Lacey, Cora, Samantha, Grayson and Conner; and his nieces and nephews, Don Bedell (Pam), Tom Bedell (Della), Larry Buffington, Dan Buffington, Neil Buffington (Sherry), Kim Bell and Kyla Buffington. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
