He was predeceased by: his parents, Hollie Carter and Lorene "Dutch" Carter; his son Jimmy Carter; and his siblings, Holene Barnhart and Rex Carter.
He is survived by: his former wife Wilma Marie Dorman; his wife Charity Carter; his children, Dale Carter (Rachel) and Lisa Henderson; and his daughter-in-law Kim Carter. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and numerous other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Howard Chapel Cemetery Fund.
