He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Helen Frampton Black of St. Louis and Van-Lear Black Jr. of Baltimore; his wife Marion Moreno Bischoff; his children, Van-Lear Black IV (Tami), Catherine "Katie" Black Frost, Kenneth Lemoine Green IV and Tracy Chamberlain Green; his grandchildren, Jessie Garrett Black and William Van-Lear Black; and also Nancy Ann Niemeyer.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be directed to The Muny, The St. Louis Zoo, or to an organization of one's choice.
