He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William S. "Vess" and Edna Murphy (Young); his sisters, Dorothy Varner of Independence, Karen Brighan of Gillette and Kay Fox of Peoria; his sister-in-law Rilla Murphy of Seymour, IA.; his great-nephew Craig Murphy; his siblings, Jim, Fred, Bill, John, Helen Godfrey and Mary Cardwell; and his siblings-in-law, James Godfrey, Kenny Caldwell, Noel Varner, Harold Brighan, Al Fox, Ruby, Hilda and Doris. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
