He was predeceased by: his parents, Kelly Combs and Shirley Redfeather; his adoptive mother Jan; and his niece Brittany Anderson. He is survived by: his adoptive father John Erdman; his spouse Tisch West; his sons, Colby Erdman of Kansas City, Luke Erdman (Jess) of Shenandoah and Jake Erdman-Stark (Zachary) of Unionville; his stepson Dustin West (Ashley) of Hedrick, Iowa; his daughter Jessica Klebba (John) of Linn, Missouri.; and his siblings, James Erdman (Janet) of Sioux Center, Robert Erdman of Huron, Edward Martin of Cleveland, Tomas Erdman of Lenexa, Kansas., Ann Degenhardt of Maine, Frances Anderson of Spencer, Madonna King of Pocahontas and Jenny Erdman of Des Moines, Iowa.. He is also survived by six grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
