He was predeceased by: his father William Alger Ashworth; his stepfather John Bay; his brother Jeremy Bay; his nephew Michael Holden Jr.; his niece Ashley Marie Holden; and his mother-in-law Carolyn Robison.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ashworth (O'Connor) of St. Clair; his mother Brenda Bay of Lonedell; his sisters, Lisa Holden (Michael) of Lonedell, Michelle Jarvis of Potosi and Deana Sandoval of St. Peter's; and his siblings-in-law, Patrick O'Connor, Cheryl Barkhurst (Nate) of St. Clair, Amanda McNew (Shawn) of St. Clair and Bobbi Palmer (Bobby) of St. Clair. He is also survived by many nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
