It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Shirley May Meyer of Union, Missouri, born in Audubon, Iowa, who passed away on April 5, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Nielsen and Evelyn Nielsen (Jensen); her husband Vernon Meyer; her stepmother Dorothy Nielsen; her sister Maryann Miller; and her nephew Todd Nielsen.
She is survived by: her children, Richard Meyer (Cari) of Phoenix, Linda Schattgen (Tom) of Lonedell and Dave Meyer (Ginger) of Lohman, Missouri; her brothers, Ronald Nielsen (Donna) of Hamlin, Iowa, Paul Nielsen (Michelle) of Hamlin, Iowa and Robert Nielsen (Kristi) of Hamlin, Iowa; her grandchildren, Greg Schattgen (Krysten), Derek Meyer (Venea), Matt Schattgen (Ashley), Brian St (Kandace), Jason Meyer (Sarah), Ellie St (David Martinez), Lydia Meyer (Andrew Fleming) and Jackson Meyer (Lily Rohlfing); her great grandchildren, Everett, Lucas, Abigail, Barrett, Dean, Bryce, Dybala, Nelli, Warren, Mason, Morgan and Jocelyn; and her brother-in-law Mark Miller (Cindy) of Audubon, Iowa. She is also survived by relatives and wonderful friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church (1991 Eagle Ave, Audubon, IA 50025). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Audubon Country Club (520 S Division St W, Audubon, IA 50025).
Memorials in honor of Shirley Meyer can be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or American Parkinson Disease Association – Greater St. Louis Chapter.
