He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Gillespie and Flora Gillespie; and his siblings, Louis Gillespie, Lester Gillespie, Glen Gillespie and Pauline Menson.
He is survived by: his wife Frances Gillespie (Etherton) of Sullivan; his daughter Vicky Adkins (Mike) of Villa Ridge; his sister Joan McKnight of Doniphan; his sister-in-law Ethel Gillespie of Silva; his grandsons, Michael Adkins of Villa Ridge and Matthew Adkins of Villa Ridge; and his great grandchildren, Devin Adkins, Hailey Adkins and Jayce Abernathy. He is also survived by nieces; nephews; and many other relatives and many friends.
Memorials in honor of Robert Gillespie can be made to the American Cancer Society.
