James Anthony Eckelkamp Obituary
We are sad to announce that on November 11, 2024, at the age of 81, James Anthony Eckelkamp of Union, Missouri, born in Washington, Missouri passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William and Margaret; his grandson Nathaniel Paul Haynes; his parents-in-law, Richard Lauchsteadt and Doris; his stepfather-in-law Edwin "Baldie" VanLeer; his sister Carol Charow; and his brother-in-law James VanLeer.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Lauchsteadt; his children, James R. Eckelkamp (Jolene) of New Haven, Cindy Downing (Curtis) of Beaufort, Christy Meyer of Washington, John Eckelkamp (Chrissy) of Gerald and Carol Haynes of Osage Beach; his grandchildren, Jacob Eckelkamp, Anna Eckelkamp, Amanda Downing, Tyler Meyer, Caitlyn Meyer, Marissa Meyer, Michelle Meyer, Jaxson Meyer, Hailey Barch (Kyle), Matt Eckelkamp, Payton Eckelkamp and Khloe Eckelkamp; his great grandchildren, Hunter Meyer, Skylar Meyer, Adrian Meyer, Sabrina Sullivan, Alexis Orick, Averie Barch, Paisley Jahnsen and Axel Barch; his godson Christopher Haynes of Holts Summit; his sister Norma Eckelkamp of Villa Ridge; and his siblings-in-law, Leesa Nolkemper (Rick) of Union and Richard Charow of St. Louis. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A rosary will be held on Monday, November 18th 2024 from 2:45 PM to 3:00 PM at the Oltmann Funeral Home - Union (103 N Church St, Union, MO 63084). Visitation will be held on Monday, November 18th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary of Perpetual Help Catholic Church (1587 Hwy Am, Villa Ridge, MO 63089).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Church or Ronald McDonald House Charities.
