He is survived by: his father Roland "Butch" Gruen (Neva) of Union; his wife Janel Gruen; his sons, Daniel Gruen (Laura) of Union and Matthew Gruen (Tessa) of Stanton; his grandchildren, Stinson Gruen, Hazel Gruen, Rowan Gruen and Dylan Gruen; his brother Tony Gruen of St. Clair; and his nephew Luke Gruen. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
