He was predeceased by: his parents, George Sparks and Laura Mae Sparks (Shelton); his siblings, Larry Sparks, Terry Sparks and Clara Shelton; and his grandson Michael Parker.
He is survived by: his wife Laura Sparks of Troy; his children, Kelly Vogler (David Looney), Joe Parker (Becky), Jamaal Sparks and Natisha Sparks (Aaron); and his sister Izetta Sparks. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
