Betty Jean Colbert Cox Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Jean Colbert Cox of Troy, Missouri, who passed away on January 5, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank W. Morris and Georgia Lee Murphy Morris; her siblings, Joseph, Homer Morris, Alvina Saucerman, Anna Bell Foster and Martha Richey; her former husband Billie Colbert; and her son Mark Colbert.

She is survived by: her children, Deb Wallace (Dan) of Foley and Dane Colbert (Patty) of Troy; her grandchildren, Becca, Christopher, Kierston, Callie, Steve and Frank; and her stepchildren, Ginia Meier (Jerry) of Troy and Randy Cox (Diane) of Kearney, MO. She is also survived by several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Carter-Ricks Funeral Home (107 S 5th St, Elsberry, MO 63343). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Star Hope Cemetery (1953 MO-79, Elsberry, MO 63343).
