He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene O'Neil Russell and Mildred Maxine McClaskey; his son Gary Dewayne Bowers; and his sister Jean Ann Probst. He is survived by: his wife Ellen Hamilton; his children, Richard Burnfin (Stephanie), Patricia Stowers (Jeff), Cynthia Bowers, Dawn Burnfin, Jamie Burnfin and Heather Souders (James); his sisters, Patty Holt and Debbie Rice; and his grandchildren, Jayna Stowers, Jon Stowers, Ashley, Charity Ward, Christy Wiegand, Desmond Huff, Alex Burnfin, Emily Graves, Christian, Benjamin Elliott, Wesley Elliott, Samuel Suhonrn, Erin Wattenbarger, Isaac Wattenbarger, Nicholas Wattenbarger, Sue Ellen McPherson, Leon McPherson, Louise McPherson, Jonathan Burnfin, Hannah Burnfin, Dakota Bowers, Lillyaunna Bowers and Destini Souders. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Slater-Neal Funeral Home (813 Custer St, Trenton, MO 64683). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
