He was predeceased by: his parents, Samp Sherman and Lula Hughes (Walker); his spouse Frankie R. Hughes; and his siblings, Lester, Arthur, James, Gilbert Hughes, Loma Hickman and Elizabeth Kirk.
He is survived by: his siblings, Marion Hughes of Trenton, MO, Mary Ann Allen of Topeka, KS, Jessie Beckwith of Topeka, KS and Joyce Zinn of Topeka, KS. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
