He was predeceased by: his parents, Alva Dow and Velma Cooksey (Meyers); and his spouse Retta Ann Huffstutter. He is survived by: his children, Mike Cooksey (Jane) of Trenton, Marilyn Wilken (Jim) and Connie Cross (Greg) of Laredo; his brother Donald Cooksey (Lena) of Laredo; his sisters-in-law, Judy Klinginsmith and Zella Whitney; and his grandchildren, Jay Cooksey (Crislyn), Michelle Reed (Sam), Jada Hollinger (Dillon), Brian Frey (Amanda), Wesley Frey (Stephanie), Jacob Cross (Staci), Ashlea Watson (Travis) and Ethan Cross (Hayley). He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and his buddy Jack the cat.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Green Hills Animal Shelter or Sunnyview Nursing Home and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
