He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Ishmael and Jesse Ishmael (Claypole); his wife Joetha June Gallatin; his son Rick Ishmael; and his siblings, Helen Figg, Betty Redfield, Kenneth and Arthur Ishmael.
He is survived by: his son Rodney Ishmael (DeVonna) of Excelsior Springs, MO; his daughter-in-law Pam Bray (Tommy) of Phoenix, AZ; his brother Paul Ishmael of Trenton; his grandchildren, Amanda, Kristina, Zach Ishmael, David (April Ishmael), Nathan (Heather Ishmael) and Joy Merrill; and his great grandchildren, Ava, Audrey, Aiden, Ashton, Elijah, Isaiah, Ezekiel Ishmael, Leila and Kylie Merrill.
