She was predeceased by: her parents, John Hatton and Sara Hatton (Hays); her son Danny Hovey; her son-in-law Lionel Kerns; her granddaughters, Samantha Hovey, Latisha Crockett and Cheryl Sipes; and her siblings, Randy Hatton, Gary Hatton and Nora Bowen.
She is survived by: her husband Frederick Penland of Amazonia, Missouri; and her children, John Penland (Angela) of Laredo, Wayland Hovey (Kim) of St. Joseph, Rusty Hovey of St. Joseph, Missouri, Danyelle Kerns of Stewartsville, Robin Crockett (Ricky) of St. Joseph, Ginger Hovey (Dave Radmer) and Sandra Mace (Rodney) of St. Joseph, Missouri. She is also survived by twenty seven grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
