With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alten Hammettjr. of Trenton, Missouri, born in Saint Joseph, Missouri, who passed away on February 27, 2021 at the age of 85. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Alten Hammettjr. to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Alten Ray and Dorcas Maupin Hammett Sr.; and his sister Margaret Porter. He is survived by: his wife Norma Weldon; his children, Dr. Alten Ray Hammett III (Theresa), Randy Hammett (Terri), Conrad Hammett (Sheila) and Rebecca Lytle (Larry); his grandchildren, Jessica, Nathaniel, Wendi, Nicholas, Sidnei and Jarrett; his great grandchild Finnley; and his siblings, Alice Blain (Bill), Major Hammett (Sue) and Rick Hammett (Karen). He is also survived by his children and grandchildren.

Memorial contribution to Grundy County Jewett Norris Library or the North 65 Senior Center and maybe left with the funeral home.
