He was predeceased by: his mother Theresa Burns (Lannon); and his wife Joyce Elaine Thompson. He is survived by: his father Robert Burns; his children, Michael John Burns, Jr. of Tipton, Michele Harkins (Joshua) of Tipton, Germaine Burns (Dalton Showman) of Tipton and Sarah Burns (J. R. Sherrell) of Crocker, MO; and his grandchildren, Erica Harkins, Kaylynn Harkins, Alena Harkins, Aiden Harkins, Konnar Furney, Addilynn Hibdon, Remington Hibdon, Daxton Hibdon and Madeline Sherrell.
