He is survived by: his children, Kimberly Layne Waits Lancaster (Jackie) and Lawrence Dwayne Waits; his granddaughter Clara Isabelle Waits; his siblings, Virginia Alice Waits Sherley (Charles) and Kenneth William Waits (Lana); and his niece Kelly Rhoads Madden (Robert). He is also survived by other relatives; and many friends.
