He was predeceased by: his mother Margaret Simmons Elwell; and his brothers, James M. Elwell, Larry W. Elwell and John L. Elwell. He is survived by: his father Kenneth Elwell; his wife Betty Garner Elwell; his sons, Gerald W. Elwell (Janet) of Parker, CO, Brian K. Elwell of Independence, MO and Donnie L. Elwell of Marshall, MO.; his grandchildren, Joseph, Jessica, Emily, Andrew, Leslie and Emma Elwell; his sisters, Sharon A. Hemme of Buckner, MO and Violet J. Forsyth of Independence, MO; and his grandsons, John, Larry and Don. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family requests that any memorials be donated to Alzheimer's Association (alz.org) or Living Waters Assembly of God.
