She was predeceased by: her parents, Pary Franklin Bryant and Lola Bryant (Davis); her children, James Author Jr. and Rhonda Faye; her husbands, James Barnes and Ralph McCallister; her son Robert Barnes; her siblings, George Bryant, Wayne Bryant and Melba Randall; and her siblings-in-law, Robert Randall, John Nugent, Dexter Brown, Kathryn Bryant and Beulah Bryant.
She is survived by: her children, Perry Thurlow, Thurlow Barnes (Janet), Carl Barnes (Carolyn) and Wanda Sokol (Ron); her stepchildren, Kay and David McCallister; her sisters, Peggy Nugent and Sharon Brown; and her sister-in-law Roena Barton. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
