West Smith wrote a sympathy message

“I am sorry to hear of the passing of your dear mother Margie. She was a wonderful aunt and a sensitive, kind sister to my mother., Leslie Marion Jennings Stroup. On our visits to Missouri, she and her husband, AO always showed us a good time with warmth and welcome, including AO's memorable coon hunts. Aunt Margie always approached our California family with affection and was a very strong and helpful presence at the passing of my mother. She was a truly loved aunt. With love, Cousin Jim Stroup”
