With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Joan S. Mathews of Sullivan, Missouri, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Joan left this world on June 19, 2024 at the age of 88, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, John Harmon and Elnora Harmon (Flanagin); her husband John E. Mathews; her son John Mathews Jr.; her grandsons, John Mathews III and Brett Mathews; her siblings, Ferd Harmon, Donald Harmon and Mae June Schatz; and her close friend Chleo Alexander.

She is survived by : her daughter Debbie Dixon (Bob) of Sullivan, MO; her grandchildren, Sharri West (Joe) of Naylor, MO, Keith McDaniel of St. Louis, MO, Tara Lordo (Charles) of Olivette, MO, Rob Dixon (Melanie) of Washington, MO and Steve Dixon (Sara) of Jackson, MO; her great grandchildren, Connor, Chase, Leesha, Joe, Jason, Eddie, Sam and Evelyn; her sister Carol Bridwell of Moore, OK; her sister-in-law Judy Harmon of Sullivan; and her close friends, Jim Minx and Ila Faye Stumpe. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, many other beloved relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 25th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Eaton Funeral Home (347 N Clark St, Sullivan, MO 63080). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, June 25th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

Memorial contribution may be given in Joan's memory to the Missouri Baptist Hospital Sullivan Foundation or BJC Hospice.
