He is survived by: his parents, Carla Long Hedges (Trim) of Sullivan, MO and Gerald "Jerry" Long (Jerry) of Bowling Green, MO; his former wife Karen Begley; his stepfather Norman Hedges; his brother-in-law Tom; his sons, Jason Long (Katelyn) of Excelsior Springs, MO and Jesse Long (Dawn) of Hannibal, MO; his grandchildren, Lily, Cora, Wyatt, Kayden, Eliab and Annalise; his siblings, Kathy Long Bays (Tom) of Union, IA, Terry Mills of Marshalltown, IA, Roger Mills (Gaylene) of Ackley, IA and Kelly Mills Katzer (Trent) of Nevada, IA; and his friend David Gray of State Center, IA. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Due to the impact of the coronavirus, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
