He was predeceased by: his parents, James Benton and Martha Benton (Bray); and his siblings, Leroy Benton (Ruby), Earl Benton, Herbert Benton, Sylvia Bailey (Floyd), Ann Seba (Clifford), Robert (Eunice Piofcyk) and Fred Schmidtke (LeOlin Vogt).
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Benton; his children, Jill Krupela (Paul) and Allen Benton (Sandy); his grandchildren, John Krupela (Nicole), Claire Krupela and Brett Benton; his stepgrandchildren, Terrick Ellis (Allison) and Savannah Kempker (Clayton); and his siblings-in-law, Lorraine Benton, June Schmidtke, Irma Vogt and Melvin Landwehr (Janice). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Champion City Cemetery.
