He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Lou Alfred Sumpter; his parents, Donald Sumpter and Estelle E. Sumpter (Easter); his sisters, Zorra Spindler, Elizabeth "Zipper" Kline and Delpha Bacon; and his granddaughter Kimberly Danielle Sumpter.
He is survived by: his children, Damon Sumpter (Paula) of Sullivan and Rhonda Barsch of Bentonville, AR; and his siblings, Richard Sumpter of Sullivan, John Sumpter of Sullivan, David Sumpter of Sullivan and Betty Enloe of Sullivan. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
