He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob J. Spies and Anna C. Spies (Brungardt); and his brother John Spies. He is survived by: his son Richard Rickleman of Florissant, Missouri; and his brothers, Clarence "Chuck" Spies of Seattle, Wilford "Will", Mary Sheehan of Denver, Eleanor "Elly" Ruby of Cleveland, Missouri and Mildred "Milly" Spies of Pensacola, Florida. He is also survived by several grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
